For several years, Rebuilding Together El Paso has been proud to work hand-in-hand with Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC). What began as a corporate grant to support health-and-safety repairs in City Council District 3 quickly grew into something much more meaningful.
Thanks to MPC’s annual investment of $75,000, our teams have been able to help dozens of elderly and low-income homeowners remain safe in the homes they love. But the partnership did not stop with financial support. Each year, Marathon employees roll up their sleeves on our volunteer Event Day, bringing energy, skills, and compassion directly into El Paso neighborhoods.
Together we have replaced hazardous tubs with walk-in showers, installed grab bars and smoke detectors, repaired roofs and HVAC systems, and removed countless fall risks. Homeowners often tell us that seeing the Marathon volunteers arrive gives them hope and reassurance that the community has not forgotten them.
MPC’s commitment has allowed RTEP to plan ahead, expand our programs, and truly “rebuild lives.” It is a powerful example of how a local company and a local nonprofit can join forces to create lasting impact—one home at a time.
