Honoring our Volunteers
We receive the support of many volunteers from the El Paso community. Most of the volunteers represent an organization, returning on our Event Day for many years. Let’s honor these volunteer teams : |
The returning teams come from the following organizations :
Home Depot– Financial support – Skilled Volunteers, Project Planning and execution
Team Depot is one of our great partners. When they get involved homes are mostly completely renovated, with materials and appliances from the Home Depot Store. Team Depot embraces the homeowner and takes full control of the project. Working with other organizations they arrange for donations, like windows, carpets etc On the Home Deport Event Day they show their team spirit, starting the day with a yell. They BBQ for lunch and don’t leave before the project is finished. |
Wells Fargo – Financial Support – Volunteers
The Wells Fargo Team of volunteers extends the community support mission of their company. With the generous annual grant of Wells Fargo we can address most of the safety and health related hazard for the homeowner, while the volunteers provide the finishing touch by painting the home and cleaning up the yard. The team considers the project as fun and team building, meeting colleagues in a different set up of the home project. |
Bank of America– Financial support – Volunteers
Under the leadership of Alejandra Chavez, the Bank of America supports Rebuilding Together El Paso as a Community Partner. They understand the needs of a non-profit to grow and being able to broaden its scope. Rebuilding Together was two times invited to compete for the Neighborhood Excellence Award and the Bank of America invests in the future of RTEP. During the Event Day in April, top management participates in the volunteer team when they paint a home of a homeowner in need. |
El Paso Electric
– Financial Support – Volunteers
This local El Paso organization is a long time supporter of our non-profit. They like to provide financial support to a non-profit which can extend the company mission to the involvement of their employees. The volunteers show up in big numbers and paint the home of one of the Rebuilding Together clients. EPE is also using their participation to develop leadership by assigning every year a new Team Leader who coordinates the project for Event Day. |
At this moment Rebuilding Together is supported by one of their employees in the Home Review activity. She gets paid leave for the time needed to review the repair requirements of an applying homeowner.
Beth El Bible ChurchThe volunteers of this church group likes to practice what is preached.
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” |
BoeingUnfortunately this company is relocated and will not have employees in El Paso any more. For many years the employees of this great company took the initiative to adopt a complete home. With their skills they came a long way to take care of the repairs needed at the home of one of the clients of Rebuilding Together. They spent their free time over one or two weeks to repair floors, walls, doors, etc. They arranged themselves befriended professional roofers when complete professionalism was required.

What their employees certainly also do is making local homeowners happy by painting their homes. This is a pure employee initiative under the long time leadership of Elna Diaz. Their professionalism and care are outstanding and we love to see them back every year. |

UTEPProject Move is an initiative of UTEP and over 200 students volunteer every year for Rebuilding Together. Ten homes are prepared for their painting skills, while they also clean up yards. Project Move starts very year with a rally at the UTEP and the between 1000 and 2000 student spread out over El Paso to help non-profits. “Our” student are assigned to the homes when they arrive at the rally and after enjoying a breakfast they got out to the homes. To the surprise of many the job appears not to be a burden, but a fun event with a lot of friendship and bonding.
